To the naked eye, the scoreline on Saturday night wouldn’t suggest that the Sol struggled at all with the Las Vegas Mobsters on Saturday night. The final score of 5-1 indicates a comfortable win for the Sol but after the game, Coach Matt Gordon pointed out some of the things that the Sol need to work on for the upcoming week. “This was a tough game in a lot of ways,” commented Gordon. “We struggled with tempo and focus for large periods of the game but always felt we could score once we accelerated the game.”

This was the Sol’s 2nd match of the regular season, with both matches being exhibition matches. Last Wednesday’s 2-0 win on the road at FC Arizona and Saturday’s 5-1 win against Las Vegas should set the tone coming into a crucial PDL Opening match this coming Saturday against FC Tucson.
Looking ahead to Saturday’s match, Coach Gordon went on to say “We had a good first week though, and we have lot’s of good players on the squad this year. We are excited for a solid week of training to move in to the FC Tucson game to open up our season.
This Saturday’s match kicks off at 7:30pm at St Pius X High School and tickets are still available at www.AbqSolFC.com.
